Soul-tattoos.....

What is a soul-tattoo, you might ask?

In the book "Limitless Life", by Derwin L. Gray, he talks about man's need to "label".  We give and pick up alot of labels during our lifetime.  Labels can be good.  They can separate things or establish limits.  But if things are mislabeled, they can be destructive; they create unhelpful boundaries and false limitations.

If you label yourself a failure, you limit your chances for success.  If you label yourself as weak, you limit your strength.  If you label yourself a disappointment, you limit your ability to see that people appreciate you -- that God appreciates you.

"Soul-tattoos"... those indelible marks that are imprinted on our hearts and limit us.  A "soul-tattoo" is a label that is ingrained deep in our hearts, so much so that it determines how we see ourselves.  And how we see ourselves determines how we live.

We have to learn how to over-come those self-imposed limitations.

What labels have you tattooed on your soul?

---Fearful
---Failure
---Unlovable
---Addict
---Purposeless
---Damaged Goods

I think at times, I have believed all of the above about myself.  And I still struggle to overcome those inaccurate labels most days, but I refuse to rest in those beliefs.  No more.

The first chapter of "Limitless Life" is:  "From Afraid to Courageous" -- which immediately reminds me of one of my favorite songs by James Casto titled, "Courageous".

This song asks the question:  "What would you do if you knew you would not fail?"

How would you answer that??  Think about it..... Seriously.  It's a powerful question.

"What would you do if you knew you would not fail?"

"Only God knows how many dreams have been killed at the altar of fear.  It must break His heart to see dreams He has placed in so many people's hearts go unrealized because we have more faith in fear than in Him."

Don't let "fear" be one of your soul-tattoos.......  with God's help, we can all be Courageous.

Let's do this....  :-)

Love y'all....M
