UPDATE ON MOM - 1/31/13

She's finally resting comfortably right now, but today was HARD.  This might not be the most politically correct thing to say, but.... THANK GOD FOR MORPHINE.   She was breaking my heart after they wheeled her back from her surgery this morning.  She was shaking uncontrollably, and staring at me like a scared little girl.  She just kept saying "Please hurry... Oh Marcia... Help me....Hurry Marcia... do something... Help me"  -- over and over.  I just kept piling blankets on her and saying,  "I'm hurrying Mom, I'm trying to help, I promise".   Then, when the morphine started taking effect and she started to calm down a bit, she closed her eyes and kept saying, "I just want to go home..... I just want to go home."

... and when she says "home", I'm not really sure she means her apartment.  :-(

But I prayed for MERCY, and Jesus heard me.  He heard US....and when I mean US, I mean all the friends and family who told me they were praying today.  Thank you prayer warriors!!!   I believe in the power of prayer and I'm happy to report that as of now she is resting more peacefully and comfortably that I've seen her in the last 5 days.

So thank you.... thank you..... and keep those prayers a comin' because she has another surgery tomorrow.   Tomorrow is the actual removal of the rotten 'ol gall bladder.  TODAY, she had the stones which had lodged in her main bile duct removed.  That surgery went very well.... (more praise!)

The bad news is her white blood count continues to rise, they have found that her heart is enlarged, she tested positive for mrsa in her nose, and she still can't move her legs without yelling in pain.  SO... we still have a long, hard climb outta this mess.

Thanks for climbing with me friends....

Love you all...... M

  2. Praying for you all sweet friend. If you need me, I am here to help you in any way I can. You know I took care of a lady for 6 years who just died in September at almost 100 years old. I love older people and will do what I can to help out!

    Love you!

    1. Lisa, I know you have a heart for seniors! Thank you so much for offering to help! I will definitely remember your offer if/when I need help with her! Right now, I'm one of the only things still "familiar" to her, so I'm trying to be the one to stay by her side most of the time. There may come a time where I just can't do it anymore, so thank you for offering. You are precious!! Love you!

  3. Sweet sweet Marcia...you are so dear to me. I read this and just cry and emphathize with you so much! My mama wanted to go home "to Heaven". My sweet Nathan begged for his mama when he was in so much pain. Just hang in there Marcia. I'm praying for your mama to not be in pain. I'm praying for her to come through this 2nd surgery and feel so much better. I'm praying for Jesus to wrap his arms around you and hold you up through this. Your mama needs you and you will always remember that. Please let me know if you need me for anything even just to talk. I'm gonna be ok---I feel prayers coming too. I love you!!!!
