Ellie May Waldron.... RIP sweet girl

I can't believe this is happening.  Both our beautiful fur-babies gone in the same week.   After saying goodbye to little Django on Tuesday, our sweet 15 yr. old lab-mix Ellie has followed her little brother across the Rainbow Bridge.   Heart. Officially. Shattered.

Ellie was dumped as a 3 month old puppy in a box out in the middle of the woods with her sister. Thankfully some friends found them and saved their lives.  The pet rescue facility "Love at First Sight" took her sister, but they didn't have room to take Ellie too.  SO.... she came into our lives.   Mike and I had just been married a few months, and we weren't really planning on getting a dog, but..... "plans" don't matter when a sweet pup like Ellie needs you.

She's been an amazing dog.  A great watchdog.  A caring, loving member of our family for 15 years.  But time has taken away her spark and her joy for life.   As badly as we want to keep her here, the last few days have taken their toll and it was clearly time to let her go.   Rather than risk her dying alone, we chose to have her gently put to sleep while we held her here at our home.

Ellie Mae....thank you for your faithful love and devotion to us.  We will always miss and love you.
Find Django and keep an eye on him until we get there.  You know how he's always getting into trouble.

Love you both,
Mom
