"Beautiful Feet"

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news..."  Romans 10:14-15

My friend Melissa Irwin is truly an inspiration to me.  Not just because was she brave enough to travel to Zimbabwe all by herself a few years ago to minister to the orphans there.  And not just because she has been traveling back and forth there for several years to continue helping those orphans.  And not even because she started a non-profit organization all by herself to make sure these precious kids have food to eat and a roof over their head.... but mainly because she listens to God's prompting and then she GOES.

Right now, Melissa and our friend Michelle Soll are both in Zimbabwe for a few days.  They took over some provisions for the kids and are assessing what needs they may have right now.  They are spending a few days getting hugs and kisses from those babies and MOST importantly, they are spreading the love of Christ into their world and reminding them that they are special and not-forgotten.  Not by her and not by God.

I am honored to be on the board of directors of the non-profit that Melissa started.  It is called "Beautiful Feet Global Outreach".   But I want to do MORE than just sit on the board.  I want to figure out a way that I can help those kids... specifically having some kind of music fundraiser.  But putting together an event like that is foreign to me... so please pray that I will figure out the BEST way to get this DONE.

A sponsorship program for each of the kids starts this fall.  Please check out the BFGO blog, which features each of the kids.  You can get to know a little about them and maybe find it in your heart to sponsor one of them.  You CAN make a difference in another person's life.  Here is your chance.  For REAL.

Here are just a few of the kids needing sponsors:

David

Ruth

Caleb

Gennette

Marlena

Midwin
We all want to make a difference in this world, but sometimes it's hard to know WHERE we can be best utilized or WHAT we need to do.  Let me tell you that this is a GREAT place to get started.  Every single DIME that is donated to BFGO goes directly to helping these kids.  There is no staff here that is getting paid.  Your money isn't going towards getting a BFGO office, no fees, nothing... it's all going to help someone in great need.  You can be sure of that... Melissa is very forth-right with how each dime is spent at BFGO.  You can read all about that on the website as well.

Ok..this blog is long enough this morning... but one more thing...will you join me as I pray for Melissa and Michelle over the next few days?  Pray that they travel safely.  Pray that they are able to do the work that God needs them to do while they are there?   Pray that they are able to assess the immediate needs clearly and find a way to meet them?    Thank you ALL.
