Miss Mary

I'm sitting at my neighbor's house watching her sleep. Sounds odd, I know. But Miss Mary is more than just a neighbor. She's like a Mom to me. Ever since we moved into our little house on this dead-end street, Mary has been a big part of our lives. She "adopted" us. Her daughter, Vicki is my age and like a sister to me. Our families are intertwined, and I'm so thankful for that!

Miss Mary is 76 and has had a hard time lately. Her son, Tom passed away last week. It really got her down. I can't imagine how losing a child would feel, but I pray everyday that I never know. Now she is having some health problems and they ran alot of tests on her today. She is in pain, so they have given her strong pain meds and now she is sleeping. We don't want her to be alone, so while her youngest son is taking his daughter to church, I am sitting with Miss Mary. Watching her sleep. Praying for her recovery.

I am honored to be a part of this amazing woman's life.
