I just baked the pumpkin pies, and my turkey is in the oven.... The Macy's parade is about to start, which I LOVE to watch on Thanksgiving morning!! I'll be cooking all morning as I watch the parade and anxiously await family to start arriving..... Today will be filled with laughter, love, lots of good food, football and many moments of thanks for what the Good Lord has blessed our family with this year!!
I don't know about you guys, but it's so easy for me to look around at other people who have "more" than I do and compare my situation to their's and wish I had what they have. Sometimes it just seems like EVERYONE has a nicer house than I do. Or more money to take better vacations. Or cooler cars, more songs cut, and nicer clothes. The truth is, there are WAY more people who have less than I do. If I'm going to play the "compare" game, why don't I pick them to compare myself to and realize that I'm blessed beyond measure. Not just on Thanksgiving, but every single day. That's what I want. I want to be this grateful and thankful every day of the year..... Most people make "New Year's Resolutions"... but I'm going to make a "Thanksgiving Resolution". I'm going to try and remember to feel this blessed everyday of the year... and make more time in my life to reach out to others who are less fortunate than I am.
Thank you to ALL of you who have made a difference in my life this year. My family. My friends. You know who you are...... You are special to me, Mike and the kids. Thanks for all the support you give us, personally and professionally. It truly is an honor to walk through this world with you by our side. And ON our side.
Much love and thanks..... Marcia

Nov. 23rd, 1998 was a VERY good day!!
I'm so blessed to have such an amazing husband.... he's truly a God-send to me and the kids! We've been through alot together since this picture was taken 11 yrs. ago today..... great times and bad, fun times and sad...(I'm starting to sound like a Dr. Seuss poem aren't I?) Anyway, I'm SO glad I had the love of THIS MAN at my side through it all!!
Thanks for marrying me honey!! Nov. 23rd, 1998 was a very, very good day!!

Thanksgiving....
This year we are blessed to have Mike’s family coming down from Michigan to celebrate with us! My parents are here in Nashville, so we will all be together! Of course I have amazing family in Oklahoma and Texas too that will be in my heart as well. I’m SO very thankful for ALL of our family…. AND our friends, who are like extended family to us!
I’m also thankful this year for the consistent work that God has sent our way. Being self-employed musicians can be a struggle at times, but we love what we do, and are thankful that we get to make our living doing what we love so much!
Of course life is not without problems, heartaches, struggles, and disappointments. Those are always there, but especially during this special time of the year, I try to concentrate on what God has blessed me WITH and not with what I think I might be missing.
SO… what are YOU thankful for this year?

News of the week...
Hey ya'll...
Anyone still have any Halloween candy lying around?? Not us! But I'm still enjoying LOTS of Pumpkin! Pumpkin Spice coffee, coffee creamer, pancakes, Hershey's kisses, lotion, candles AND I just got a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Bread Pudding that I'm dying to make!! Mmmmmm.... I love all things Pumpkin!! Now on to some important business........
I'm playing this week on Tues. Nov. 10th at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville, TN. I'm going to be a part of a great night of amazing singer/songwriters playing at Rachel William's Anniversary Party! Come out and see me, Rachel and her friends, Tim Buppert, Angela Kaset, Lisa Carver, Wood Newton, Bonnie Baker, Vickie Carrico, Craig Monday, Ronnie Kimball and Joe Spivey!! Now THAT'S a LINE-UP!! Don't wanna miss it!!
Also, everyone be sure and watch my baby boy, Derek Wells playing on the CMA Awards with Lady Antebellum this Wed. night Nov. 11th on ABC!! He has been friends with Hillary Scott (the girl in the trio) since they've been little kids. For those of you who don't know, Hillary is the daughter of Linda Davis and Lang Scott. So Mike and I will be over at Linda and Lang's watching our kids perform TOGETHER on the CMA AWARDS! How COOL is THAT??? We'll probably have to break out the tissues! Proud Mama's we are!!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

Anyone looking for a new recipe? I invented one today!!
So, today is my day to be cleaning house... but....
…I’m stopping my cleaning for a few minutes to share a recipe I just came up with!! Now, this is JUST for YOU guys, because you know I’d MUCH rather be cleaning right now, but I’ll sacrifice because I’m feeling generous today! Ha!
Have you ever ordered some Whitt’s BBQ for a party and then ended up with quite a bit of it left in your fridge, but were sick of BBQ sandwiches so it ends up just sitting in there and going bad? Well, a little while ago, I decided to stop cleaning and make some lunch. I looked in the fridge, trying to figure out what I could come up with for a little lunch. We had ordered Whitt’s last Friday night and we had some of the shredded pork still waiting to be eaten. Didn’t really feel like making another sandwich so I started poking around the rest of the fridge and I came up with a good little idea!! Shredded Pork Tacos….they were GOOOOOD!! And EASY! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m always looking for something new, quick and easy to make for the family. Although I was the only one home today to enjoy my new creation.. I WILL make it one night for dinner.. along with some Spanish rice too! So here’s the recipe:
Marcia’s Shredded Pork Tacos:
Corn Tortillas
Whitt’s Shredded Pork BBQ Meat
Bush’s chili Beans (Pinto Beans in Chili Sauce)
Whitt's Cole Slaw
Salsa
Just heat up the tortillas, leftover shredded pork, and beans in the Microwave. Then layer the meat, beans, coleslaw and salsa in the tortilla… fold up and enjoy!!. Easy and REALLY tasty!!
Okay, okay…. Back to cleaning….
Love,
M
