Thanksgiving....

No doubt about it.  Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday!  I love everything that comes with it….cool fall weather, great food, football, pumpkins (of course!), and most of all, taking the time to be extra thankful for what God has blessed us with this year!

This year we are blessed to have Mike’s family coming down from Michigan to celebrate with us!  My parents are here in Nashville, so we will all be together!  Of course I have amazing family in Oklahoma and Texas too that will be in my heart as well.  I’m SO very thankful for ALL of our family…. AND our friends, who are like extended family to us!

I’m also thankful this year for the consistent work that God has sent our way.  Being self-employed musicians can be a struggle at times, but we love what we do, and are thankful that we get to make our living doing what we love so much!

Of course life is not without problems, heartaches, struggles, and disappointments.  Those are always there, but especially during this special time of the year, I try to concentrate on what God has blessed me WITH and not with what I think I might be missing.

SO… what are YOU thankful for this year?

  1. That's so great you'll have everyone in Nashville this year! We always go to my sisters house, which my nephew apparently forgot. He asked if I was spending the night before Thanksgiving (since I do on Christmas so my sis and I can play Santa) and I said "Yes", and he shouted "YES!!!!"

I love Thanksgiving! I always have a blast with the kids on the Holidays. And I love Black Friday :D Not even just for the good deals, my sister and I have a tradition of going out and getting out in the craziness and making my brother in law watch the kids for once!

  2. I usually don't do Black Friday, but I think I'm gonna give it a shot this year! My mother-in-law said something about going to Walmart at like 4AM because it's open all night this year. However, we can't PAY for our sales items until 6AM, so we might have to take a turkey sandwich or something to eat while we wait!! LOL
