Making a change on "Facebook"....
Changes are hard sometimes. But I’m going to have to make a change concerning my Facebook and I hope everyone understands……
I love people. ALL people!! That’s probably why I have so many “networking” pages on the internet, because I love staying in touch with family and friends. I also love hearing from fans!! It warms my heart to hear that my music has touched someone, so I love having a way for anyone to get in touch with me concerning my music. However, recently I’ve had some issues with the privacy of some family members on my Facebook, so I am closing my “friend” list down to ONLY family and close friends.
I STILL have four different “open” forums for anyone to stay in touch with me…. They are:
www.marciaramirez.com
www.myspace.com/marciaramirez
www.marciaramirez.blogspot.com
www.twitter.com/marciaramirez
Just because I choose to live my life out in the open, doesn’t mean that everyone I love wants to have THEIR lives on public display. I want to respect that. So my Facebook will be kept “private” for now.
Thank you guys for understanding my need for this change!
Hugs,
Marcia

Understand and I have a feeling I know what you are talking about...
ReplyDeleteWhen I initially set up my Facebook, it was only to stay in touch with family and close friends. Being able to share personal pictures and little events in our lives with each other was SO easy that way! Then my "friend" list started including people that I really didn't know.... and of course, then THEY could see what my children, husband, brothers, sisters, parents etc.. were posting on MY page and finding out things about THEIR lives that they didn't really want to share with just anyone. After someone I didn't know well contacted one of my kids through facebook, then that was the final straw. I don't know that person, and they might be perfectly harmless, but the fact is I DON'T know them and it made me feel weird that they chose to invade my child's privacy. SO..... there you have it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your understanding... you're SO cool, Miss Jessie!
Hey, I'm just glad I'm still a part of your facebook!!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU!!
Ha! Well, I KNOW you... so I REALIZE I'm dealing with "crazy" from you! JK!!!!
ReplyDeletePlus I can just turn on your webcam at any time and know you're not out stalking my kids!! -grin
I hate that I've probably had to cut off people that are wonderful folks from my Facebook, but if I don't KNOW you personally, I can't take that chance anymore... so... like I said. I still have Myspace, this blogspot and my official website for anyone to visit. That should be enough, don't you think?? :-)
Craaazy??? Meeee??? Ppsshaw!! Hey, I got enough kids of my own...I don't need to be stalking somebody elses kids!! Besides, I made a rule for myself on facebook that I wouldn't take in or request people I didn't know..Well, I did do Chip Coffey, but he's an exception! Hell, I haven't even requested Deanie, because I really haven't ever met her...Facebook is soo much more private than Myspace..e-mails are available and personal info, so, it's really not a good idea to gather so many "friends" there..ya know?
ReplyDeleteLet 'em go to Myspace..
I do have one regret on facebook....I'll have to direct you on that one...
Good for you, Marcia. I think a lot of people are going to go 'private' soon on FB because there are just too many fringe people out there that you accept as friends but don't want them really knowing your business.
ReplyDeleteWell, knowing MY business is one thing.... but being able to see all of my friends and families businesses is what is harder to control on Facebook. Thanks for the support!
